This Privacy Policy explains how BariSip ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the BariSip mobile application.
1. WHAT DATA WE COLLECT
BariSip collects and stores the following information: • Your first name (used for personalized greetings) • Your surgery date and surgery type (used to calculate recovery stages) • Your daily hydration goal (in oz or ml) • Your sip logs (timestamps and amounts of water consumed) • Your reminder settings (notification schedules) • An anonymous device identifier (generated automatically, contains no personally identifying information) We do NOT collect: • Your email address • Your phone number • Your real name (unless you choose to enter it) • Your location • Your payment details • Any biometric data
2. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
Your data is used solely to provide and improve the BariSip experience: • To display your personalized recovery stage and hydration progress • To send hydration and medication reminders you have set up • To calculate your daily and weekly hydration streaks • To show you appropriate food guidance based on your recovery stage • To restore your settings if you reinstall the app on the same device
3. ANONYMOUS AUTHENTICATION
BariSip uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication. This means: • You can use the app without creating an account • No email, password, or personal identity is required • Your data is linked to a random anonymous ID generated by Firebase • If you uninstall and reinstall the app, a new anonymous ID is created and previous data may not be recoverable
4. DATA STORAGE & SECURITY
Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted on Google's cloud infrastructure in the United States. Firebase provides industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is restricted by Firebase Security Rules — only your anonymous ID can read and write your data. BariSip staff do not have routine access to individual user data.
5. DATA RETENTION
Your data is retained as long as you use the app. You can delete all your data at any time by going to Settings → Reset App Data. This will permanently delete your profile, sip logs, and reminders from our servers.
6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
BariSip uses the following third-party services: • Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication) — data storage and auth Privacy Policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics tracking, social media integrations, or in-app purchase processing.
7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
BariSip is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at barisiplegal@gmail.com and we will delete the data promptly.
8. YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to: • Access your data — all data you've entered is visible within the app • Correct your data — edit your profile at any time in Settings • Delete your data — use Settings → Reset App Data for complete deletion • Data portability — contact us to request a copy of your data For requests related to your rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable privacy laws, contact us at barisiplegal@gmail.com.
9. NOTIFICATIONS
BariSip may send local push notifications for hydration reminders and meal timers. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device and do not involve transmitting data to our servers. You can disable notifications at any time in Settings → Notifications or in your device's system notification settings.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes within the App. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
